A few weeks ago, I flew to New York for a very special collaboration with Coyote Outdoor Living and “George to the Rescue,” one of our favorite home improvement shows out there. George Oliphant creates beautiful and meaningful renovations for deserving families in need.
We were asked to help provide a beautiful outdoor space for the Gonsalez family. Laura and Gustavo both work hard to provide a loving and safe home for their two sons, JoJo and Louis. JoJo is a vibrant 19-year-old with Down Syndrome, who loves playing basketball and playing outside. Louis, his caring, and patient older brother has a degree in architecture and is striving to become a builder one day.
The Gonzalezes purchased their home just last year but had difficulty moving in at first due to permit issues and other unexpected deterrents. They have now been living in the home as-is, but they needed some assistance getting the backyard into a safe and fun area for JoJo to enjoy.
George to the Rescue! We joined George’s team for the week to help them complete a backyard excavation and transformation, adding a basketball court and a safe enclosed space to help boost JoJo’s independence and quality of life.
My partners at Coyote Outdoor Living came along and brought with them the means for a beautiful outdoor kitchen and dining environment, including an Asado ceramic cooker, Firetable powered by Blazing Beats as well as our very own Laguna Collection Lounge chairs and the Laguna Collection 7-Piece Dining Set. We also brought with us the C-Series 8 foot Coyote Outdoor Living RTA Island with a grill and refrigerator.
It was so much fun to spend time with the GTTR team and help create an amazing outdoor space for this deserving family. You can watch their entry video here and then catch the whole episode with the grand reveal this September on NBC!
