One week from now, the Polo Ralph Lauren store at the Pavilions shopping center will be closing after 25 wonderful years in Sacramento. Five of those years, Sam and Sharon Anapolsky shared their fashion talent with me. At 24 years old, the Anapolsky family allowed me to take bi-yearly trips to visit the New York Ralph Lauren Home Collection showroom to place fabric, furniture, bedding and tabletop orders and to plan our seasonal store interior. This went on from 1994-1999 and I feel blessed to have been able to experience it. Not only did I meet amazing people along the way, but I also found that solo trips to New York at that age instill confidence and an education that cannot be taught in the classroom.
The store, which will close Jan. 22, is the last privately owned Polo Ralph Lauren store in the country. Now, Ralph Lauren Black Label and RLX merchandise will be available at the Julius store, also at Pavilions. Julius Clothing, founded downtown by Julius Anapolsky in 1921, became one of the first stores to carry Polo apparel in 1968. The high-quality apparel is now a global line of merchandise.
Cheers to the Anapolsky family! You provided a fantastic experience for clients and employees alike. Thank you…
