Never underestimate the power of social media. I know I never will again. While at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in January launching our Albedo countertop with Silestone by Cosentino, I met one of my social media friends, in real life—or as we would say on Instagram, “IRL”. In real life is always better, not to mention, so convenient as you recognize a person because of their brand and interaction, without introduction, let alone words at all!
Jacob Herskovits is the Vice President of TileBar in New York. Seeing his energy surrounding his product only brings a smile to your face. When I went to visit his TileBar booth at the show, we shared the launch of his first designer collaboration with Kelli Ellis—the HGTV star designed glamorous schemes for TileBar that merge marble and mirror effortlessly. Once I brought Jacob to my newly launched Silestone countertop, we began to discuss what tiles we would pair with it in the kitchen and bath. When I told him of my vision, he responded with, “Then why don’t you?” A wide-eyed laugh and a handshake later, the team at Kerrie Kelly Design Lab is now designing a line of 10-blue tiles for TileBar that will be launched at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) during Design Week in New York this May.
