You know how the saying goes– “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” However, when it comes to market, we want to bring everything home with us! Las Vegas Market is one of our favorite times of the year because we get to see what all of the genius interior design minds are up to and collaboration and networking is always in full force. The interior design industry is constantly flowing with innovation and reinvention and our team loves Market because we get to dig in to these ideas and let them influence our own work. We’ve compiled a short list of some of our favorite concepts that Las Vegas had to offer (featuring some of our favorite companies, too).
Nice and Noir
As seen in the official First Look publication created by Las Vegas Market for new products and trends, casual and formal black is all the rage for the upcoming year. Specifically, we’re talkin’ tableware. While we love the crispness a classic white china platter offers, we’re leaning toward the daring design of a blacked out silhouette with uniform utensils to match. Our Design Lab is crazy for this look because it can be edgy for the modern, tech savvy client or soft and sophisticated for a luxe sophisticate. The debut of dark flatware might raise a few eyebrows, but we like the look for fall, winter, and spring, as it can be decorated with nice and light linen or edgy, everyday decor. Big thanks to our industry partners Bungalow 5, Moss Studio, Feizy, and Lacefield for the inspiration!
Dust and Dawn
Generally the term ‘dusty’ evokes images of dirty floorboards or stowed antiques, but in this case, its the introduction for one of our favorite palettes from Las Vegas Market. Summer has been all about bright and vibrant shades and as much contrast as possible, which we love. But we’re also warming up to the idea of muting tones of the same colors with a dusty overlay. Smoky blues and hazy orange, like this Jaipur rug and Global Views decor, are the perfect pairing for the upcoming year, in any room in the house. Use these colors on upholstered furniture, hardtop tables, and linens for an instant style boost.
Tempting Texture
Who doesn’t love texture? We all know the feeling of running our hands over grainy wood, plush cashmere, gritty concrete, or raw linen. It turns out, your interior space also loves texture, and a lot of it. During Las Vegas Market we could throw a rock and hit 10 vendors or designers promoting the luxe look and feel of tons of textures (also, we would never throw rocks at anyone, especially people who make beautiful things). From table lamps to side chairs, if you could feel it, you could add it. We loved seeing plush velvet chairs detailed in grainy wood or large side tables juxtaposing concrete and lacquer. We highly, highly recommend incorporating this trend wherever possible.
Gild-y As Charged
Typical household wares like wall decor, bar stools, flatware, and settees are getting the Midas touch makeover with gold foiling and paint. Whether finely feathered or completely covered, this golden trend doesn’t show any signs of slowing down (nor do we want it to). The great aspect of this look is its ability to fit into any style home no matter if you’re traditional, elegant, bohemian, shabby chic, or contemporary. Opt for gilded accessories to highlight a favorite part of your room or use it to up the glam factor of your focal point.
While Las Vegas Market was enlightening and exciting, we can’t wait for our next few stops along the interior design roadtrip for the rest of 2015. Ciao!
