Our California roots run deep, but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy a change of scenery every once in awhile. This month, we’re highlighting our trip to Miami Beach in Florida, home of one of our favorite interior design styles. While it was a quick trip, we did as much exploring, shopping, sight seeing, and dining as we could manage, and are here to pick out some of our favorite spots on the infamous East Coast.
Stay
The Raleigh: Miami Beach

If you’re looking to stay at the “grand dame” of Art Deco style, look no further than The Raleigh. Located on South Beach, The Raleigh is home to iconic art deco design, from the craftsmanship of the building to the smallest detail, like the palm dotted pool and beach side oasis just outside the entryway. Not only is the hotel itself a sight to see, but it’s just footsteps away from coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and all of the night life you could ask for.
Do
Shopping at the Design District

Design districts are kind of our thing so we’ve been to many, but Miami’s design district might take the cake. Miami’s design district is home to glamorous names like Tom Ford, Celine, and Louis Vuitton, while also housing some of Florida’s most beautiful art and architecture. While we walked through the district, we managed to find some of our favorite industry partners like ANN SACKS, Brown Jordan Outdoor Kitchens, Jonathan Adler, and many more. If you’re a design aficionado, a fan of beautiful buildings, or just want to try on a few pair of Christian Louboutins, you’ve come to the right place.
Dine
The SeaGrape

Located at Thompson Miami Beach, Seagrape is representative of Miami’s quintessential beach style and it’s fantastic local finds. Founded on classic brasserie style, Chef Michelle Bernstein creates dishes that reflect Florida’s unique culture, farm fresh produce, and eclectic style. Their two delicacies? Steak and seafood of course.
If you’re ever in Miami, be sure to take pictures of your favorite spots and tell the KKDL girls all about it, because we plan on visiting this stylish beach scene again very soon! Cheers!
