On Thanksgiving morning, the KKDL team laced up their running shoes and bundled up for one of Sacramento’s favorite annual traditions, the Run to Feed the Hungry. Since 1994 the Run to Feed the Hungry fun run has been a Sacramento custom, bringing together the community to benefit those in need on the holiday of Thanks. With a record-breaking 28,644 participants in 2015, this run is not only the largest run in Sacramento but also the largest Thanksgiving Day fun run in the country! This event has quickly become a tradition the entire KKDL team is glad to share with friends and family.
Run to Feed the Hungry is owned by Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services and all profits directly benefit the organization. Much more than just food, the SFBFS offers 15 services, all focusing on education and moving families towards self-sufficiency and financial independence. SFBFS is one-of-a-kind, directly serving families in the community and offering support in the form of education, not a hand out, to each individual that seeks assistance. Through the support of volunteers, grants, private donors, and special events like the Run to Feed the Hungry, SFBFS provides everything from food and clothing to mentoring and education to over 135,000 men, women, and children each month in our wonderful Sacramento community.
The KKDL team is proud to be a part of this fantastic tradition!
