While we love traveling and strengthening relationships in the design industry, there is still something about our interior design roots that make our hearts flutter. We recently transformed the Garrett residence into an elegant family home, one that every member of the family will enjoy.
Style Inspiration
The Garrett’s live on a large piece of land with stunning views. They liked a bit of a farmhouse look and a mostly neutral palette. While taking this into consideration, we were able to layer on neutral, timeless pieces and inject just the right amount of color to balance out the beautiful green landscape flooding through their windows from outside.
What was on the wish list?
The Garrett’s felt like they had most of the large pieces (sofa, coffee table, bed, nightstands) but were having trouble putting the finishing touches together. Mrs. Garrett called us in and asked us to help her make it look and feel “lived in”. Well, we did just that! Enter lots of accessories, pillows, artwork and of course, a couple of additional staple pieces we felt were completely necessary to finish off the space (nook table and chairs along with gorgeous dining head chairs!). This made the house truly become a home!
Our Favorite Space
We truly enjoyed the whole process, however, when you have two little ones running around, the house mostly needs to be “baby proof.” That’s why the Master Bedroom was extra special to the design. We added mirrors and table lamps over the nightstands, a beautiful piece of art over the bed, and of course, layered on pillows and accessories to give these parents a well-deserved retreat!
Embracing the Unexpected
We needed to do everything BIG here! Vast open spaces and extra high ceilings don’t just call for any accessory or standard size rug. When it came to the rug, we needed to find something that was at least 15 ft wide. Thankfully, after lots of hunting for just the right one, we found the absolute perfect one for this space. Also, see the oversized art and accessories we brought in to balance it all out?! It was part of the plan.
Client Praise
Our clients hosted their first party shortly after completion – which we are sure went off without a hitch! 😊 The home is a family and entertaining haven. We can imagine the memories they’ll make in the space, from enjoying meals at their new nook table (no upholstery so the little ones can get messy!) or the heads of household curling up in their new master retreat, sans kids!
