Each year, David Lubin Elementary School is proud to present the East Sac Garden Tour. This year Kerrie Kelly Design Lab and the local community celebrated David Lubin’s 16th year of the tour in East Sacramento. It has become a tradition in our community and necessary to support activities within the school’s curriculum including academic outreach, a school garden and art program.
This year, Kerrie Kelly Design Lab’s involvement included showcasing one of our favorite East Sacramento client’s home. Nestled into 42nd Street, this Sunny California Haven, is not only charming but also high on design details and thoughtfulness.
Our task for the home tour was to feature the professional couple’s side and backyard. Enveloped in slate walkways, reclaimed wood furnishings and handmade iron trellises that hold pots, we were happy to set the scene for the tour.
Since the backdrop has been flourishing for over a year, we focused on setting the table for the Mother’s Day weekend. Runners of moss, woven chargers and pottery dishes in natural tones complemented the garden environment and invited tour-goers to stay a while.
Unassuming glass cylinder vases were wrapped in jute to carry on the natural theme and classic white tulips lined the center of the table sharing how easy it is to make al fresco dining chic and relaxed. Our moss filled birdcage centerpiece also received much attention on the tour as it is a simple solution to add weight and playfulness to a larger table design.
Mis-matched Spring fabric swatches served as napkins to accent the table décor and add a little color, too!
We were honored to be a part of the David Lubin East Sacramento Garden Tour and thankful for our generous clients for sharing their personal space on the tour. We look forward to seeing the tour’s proceeds in action for our local elementary school children!
