There are few things more lackluster than a refrigerator that you just aren’t crazy about. While refrigeration isn’t the sexiest topic, it certainly is an important one. We’ve all been to showrooms and model homes and stood in astonishment at the beauty and complexity of a lightning fast ice maker, an amply spaced refrigerator, or a gotta-have-it wine cabinet. Lucky for us, True Residential exists and it’s aim is to make our lives more beautiful and even less stressful, and any brand that promises less stress, is a brand we trust.
True Residential is an American household name, even if you haven’t heard of them before. Their origin story is as innovative as it gets:
One of the Trulaske’s very first refrigerators was used to keep beverages cool in a neighborhood bar, where an exhausted traveling 7UP salesman stopped for a drink. He noticed the refrigerator behind the bar and, after finding out that it required no unwieldy, expensive blocks of ice, told the bar owner he had to know who built it for him.
In 1948, the 7UP company purchased its first order of True Roll Top Bottle Coolers, and the True legacy was born. That legacy has grown over the course of 65 years and now includes—in the True Professional Series—commercial refrigeration refined for the home.
And the legacy only continues with their newest line of sleek and savvy cooling systems. Dating back to the early-90’s, True has chosen innovation and beauty over pointless production. With the introduction of their latest products, the The True 42 and the Clear Ice Machine, their roots in the food and bar industry shine brightly in the form of larger-than-life luxury refrigeration. From the outside, the True 42 looks like a ,well, giant fridge. But the interior is immaculately designed, boasting adaptable shelves, drawers, and baskets with beautiful glass fronts and steel hardware. Every square inch is precisely designed with sturdy stainless steel and True’s Precision temperature control (it’s claim to refrigeration fame). The Clear Ice Machine is nothing if not the perfect sidekick. Do you host many parties with many people who need many drinks? Perfect. The Clear Ice Machine promises ultra high performance with its ability to deliver energy saving, crystal clear ice cubes. While it can hold 30lbs of ice (yeah, you read that right), it can actually churn out 70lbs, so we hope your guests are thirsty.
But one of our favorite aspects of True Residential isn’t their fantastic design or even their ice machine that makes 30 pounds of ice. We’re enamored with their beautiful approach to the kitchen. To most of us, the kitchen is a room in the house where you eat, converse, and pass through on your way to the living room or bedroom. True Residential makes the kitchen a destination, a place where you can take your time and enjoy sipping a cocktail or having a bite to eat. Their blog, The Art of Cold, features some great articles about how to unwind with a glass of Cabernet, stored in their wine cabinet of course, a few recipes given by top chefs across the U.S., and different product designs to please every aesthetic. So if you’re a foodie or you geek out on cool design, we suggest paying their website and blog a visit to brush up on your refrigeration know-how.
And last but not least, a huge thank-you to our True pals for allowing us to spend a few days touring your amazing space in St. Louis, we can’t wait to visit again!
