In the design world, Kohler, Wisconsin is synonymous with Disneyland. As a trend spotter for Cosentino, the KKDL crew was granted our one design wish: a trip to design world Disneyland! On our way to Kohler, we had just enough time to let it sink in and we imagined ourselves at the beautiful retreat, the exclusive design center, the world-renowned Kohler spa, and the look on our faces once our kitchen design with Kohler, Cosentino, and Benjamin Moore were finally revealed.
Once landed, we were treated to a private tour of the Kohler Design Center, one of the most beautiful and creatively designed spaces we had ever seen. We also peaked at the famed ‘Great Wall of China’, a literal wall of Kohler’s fabulous toilets, vanities, and sinks reaching the full height of the building.
Once we managed to snap our jaws shut at the sheer sight of this colossally gorgeous design, we made our way around the design center, oohing and aahing at past designer’s gorgeous built-out scenes, such as Jonathan Adler’s dreams-come-to-life design.
As if we hadn’t been spoiled enough, the fabulous folks at Kohler prepared us a fantastic reception and dinner at the private club, Riverbend. Full of good food and great conversation, we were delightfully exhausted and ready for Day 2, where the real action began.
After our sweet Kohler-esque slumber, we made our way to The Beacon, Kohler’s studio and creative offices aka where the party is at. Once our kitchen scene was unveiled we were awe-struck with excitement at how beautifully the design came together using Kohler’s beautiful faucets and sinks, Silestone + KKDL’S Albedo surface, and Benjamin Moore’s crisp colors. While we answered a few questions, took a few hundred pictures, and chatted up the crew, we were on our way to one of the best part’s about the Kohler experience– the spa. A relaxing sauna and sleep-inducing ‘Woodswoman’ massage left us feeling pretty + pampered.
Last but certainly not least, Day 3 consisted of a factory tour where we explored their famed Artist in Residence program. We had the privilege of viewing their latest artist installment featuring Undine Brod and her amazing sculptures and art pieces.
Now that we’re back in sunny California we can safely say our design bucket list is checked off… For now!
