Living in California, our outdoor space is just as important as how our interior is designed. During the warm summer months, there isn’t anything quite as wonderful as gathering friends and family around an outdoor dining area and firing up the grill for a backyard BBQ. In our cozy Sacramento neighborhood, we always find ourselves outside with neighbors, mingling, sipping cocktails, and catching up after a long work week. We had no idea that we were missing such a crucial California element: the pergola.
We thought our outdoor space was complete once the grill was installed, the speakers were playing, and the outdoor kitchen was up and running. However, we were missing a key component. As we skimmed their website full of beautiful exterior decor and gorgeously shaded areas we realized: that’s it! We needed a pergola.
It didn’t take us more than an afternoon of surfing the website to select the right style for our space— light and bright with a hint of Americana flair. Not very long after we hit the ‘buy’ button on our new pergola, our deconstructed piece arrived at the door. Not only were we thrilled that every single element was wrapped nice and snug, but we were also ecstatic to find that the directions were clear, precise, and informative. A DIY-project for an experienced designer or contractor, or a two-person job for those that aren’t expert furniture assemblers, our Walpole pergola was only two to three steps away from being our new favorite outdoor statement piece.
Once constructed, we sat back and admired the grandiosity of our new pergola. What was once a sun-soaked outdoor dining and sitting area was now a shady oasis, speckled with sunlight from the slim openings of our pretty new pergola. Once the exterior decor was restored and our table was set with bubbles and bites, it was hard to imagine a day before we were proud owners of a Walpole Outdoors pergola.
