Being in California has its perks: The beautiful weather, 2-hour radius with the beach, mountains, and desert nearby, and the best food in the nation. Additionally, we have access to some great vacation spots like Palm Springs, San Diego, Lake Tahoe, and Vegas.
We often make our way to Las Vegas for design-related activities like markets and conferences. However, this time it was for pure pleasure as we were on our way to enjoy a Santana concert for a very special birthday celebration. With the intent to only spend 24-hours in this sleepless city, we’re here to divulge the best spots to stay, snack, sip, and enjoy with only a day for your travel itinerary.
If your travels are short and sweet, look no further than Hotel Delano for luxe in a little bit of time. This 43-floor suites-only stay incorporates all of our favorite things about Vegas: Gorgeous views, glitzy decor, delicious restaurants, and plenty of entertainment.
If your stay is a leisurely one, make an appointment at the Bathhouse Spa, one of Vegas’ top-rated spots for relaxing after a long day in the sun or a long night on the town. If you’re wanting to stay uber-local come dinner time, spots like Dellas’ Kitchen offer an urban approach to casual dining, or try Rivea for an upscale experience.
We came to Vegas to celebrate, and dinner was no exception. We had heard great things about Michael Mina’s Strip Steak from friends and family, and we were eager (and hungry) when we arrived.
Not only was our sommelier incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations throughout the entirety of the meal, but the waiter served us french fries with dipping sauce in lieu of the usual bread + butter scenario, and our taste buds were elated! The steak and seafood menu was fresh and delicious, and we cherished every mouthful of savory sirloin and tasty sides. 10/10 would recommend for fellow foodies!
When it comes to entertainment, we like to keep it casual. Heading to House of Blues post-dinner was the best decision because the venue is so approachable and low-key. With Carlos Santana in residency, we had no problem breaking it down to our favorite tunes while sipping refreshing drinks. If you’re in the mood to have fun without waiting in line for an hour or more, head to House of Blues.
Though 24-hours isn’t often enough time to plan an exciting adventure, it’s the perfect amount of time to spend in Vegas. We were able to satisfy our dinner and entertainment needs in one quick trip and then lay down for some shut eye at the most zen-like space on all of the strip.
