We always love supporting our industry pals, especially our favorite local reps and vendors. When we learned that Ferguson would be hosting their Taste Event, we made sure to scribble our names down to RSVP for what was sure to be an evening full of learning, mingling, and a good bite or two. To our very pleasant surprise, we were treated to a night celebrating and socializing with one of our favorite Food Network stars, Chef Amanda Freitag.
Now, we all know that you shouldn’t meet your heroes in real life, but it actually doesn’t apply to your favorite all-star chefs! Chef Freitag was warm and approachable when demonstrating her favorite ceviche recipe, even convincing us that we could give it a whirl back at home (we have yet to confirm that this is doable, but what a thought!). Between sampling her tasty treats, talking about her favorite places to travel, and watching her skill and attention to detail, we were floored by her thoughtful presentation and Ferguson’s anxiousness to treat their guests with the most fun we’ve had in a long time.
Post-snacking, our team made their way through the Ferguson showroom, admiring sparkling kitchen appliances, beautiful bathtubs, and wine fridges that we pictured in clients’ homes (and ours, too). We spent the night rubbing shoulders with other local designers and members of the industry in Northern California, all while eating Chef Freitag’s favorite snacks.
Upon our departure, we were each given a signed copy of Chef Freitag’s new cookbook, The Chef Next Door, which she personally handed to each member of our team, chatting about how easy the recipes were for really anyone and her excitedness for our enthusiasm. At the end of the night we had full bellies, happy hearts, and a willingness to start preparing more chef-inspired cuisine. Bon appetite!
