One of our designers, Jill, took a quick trip to Miami, Florida, last month and arrived back to us here in California looking decidedly refreshed and glowing with that South Beach glow we all crave. We asked her to share a few of her favorite place to stay, eat, and sip champagne in the hottest (read: trendiest) cities on the East Coast.
STAY
Jill: “We stayed at the gorgeous Fountainbleu Hotel. It was built in 1954, designed by famed architect, Morris Lapidus. It is an elegant, curved hotel with so many luxurious details. The 17,000 square foot lobby features a black and white marble floor in a bow tie pattern, as well as enormous crystal chandeliers. It has a great history as a popular movie filming location and music venue. Among some of the movies filmed there are, The Bodyguard, The Bellboy, Scarface, and Goldfinger.
The oceanfront boardwalk is located behind the hotel and provides a convenient and lovely way to walk into the Art Deco District, a couple of miles away. There are many pools and dining options at the hotel, as well.
DINE
“We had several fabulous meals (and champagne!) at Cecconi’s in Miami Beach. Located in the Soho Beach House courtyard, this is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious Italian meal in a beautiful garden setting.
DO
“For an exceptional experience, I highly recommend Le Sirenuse Champagne Bar. It is located in The Surf Club, originally built in the 1930’s, and was inspired by the Mediterranean architecture in Positano, Italy. A wide variety of champagne is available, as well as fantastic, authentic Italian dishes.”
