Casual Market Chicago is a four-day trade show that provides retailers with a destination to find all things related to outdoor and casual living. Located at theMart, Chicago, attendees see the newest, most innovative products from leading manufacturers around the world and discover the latest trends in color, product design, fabric patterns and more all under one roof. This year I was excited to join my Coyote Outdoor Living partners for three interactive events!
The market kicked off opening night with a Backyard BBQ hosted by Coyote Outdoor Living from 6-7pm. On the South Drive of theMart, overlooking the scenic Chicago River, attendees enjoyed bbq-inspired cuisine, cocktails, and music at this festive event. Day two was filled with visiting various brand friends and a Coyote Outdoor Meet & Greet from 3-6pm where we shared Asado smoked and grilled delights with refreshments and conversation. We also got to present new products including the Coyote Electric Grill for in-fill patios and balconies that cannot use gas or propane, the Fire Pit powered by Blazing Beats and our three distinctive furniture collections: Laguna, South Beach, and Catalina.
On Thursday’s Designer Day, we welcomed all kinds of friendly faces from across the country for my presentation on “Connecting the Indoor Aesthetic to the Outdoors”: Outdoor living spaces are more popular than ever, yet in design, these spaces are often treated as an afterthought. I shared 10-easy steps to create a space that blurs the lines between the interior and exterior environments, creating value in a home with expanded square footage and overall wellness for its occupants. We then shared lunch together before hopping on a plane to NYC!
