It’s official! The Pantone Color of the Year or #COTY2019, Living Coral has been announced. Living Coral is said to be an “animating and life-affirming coral hue” for all interior design product categories, including rugs, lighting, textiles, accent furniture, wall decor, and more.
Pantone positions Living Coral as a “vibrant yet mellow” color that provides warmth, comfort and buoyancy in today’s ever-changing environment. The color encourages authentic and profound experiences that foster intimate, interpersonal relationships – a sociable and spirited counter-response to the imposition that digital technology and social media has created in today’s society.
Living Coral bridges the gap between reds and oranges in a playful, lighthearted manner, making it much more accessible for both commercial and residential design. When used in smaller doses it can refresh a room via lamps, artwork, and pillows.
