Owned and operated by Rick Mahan, owner/chef of midtown’s beloved The Waterboy restaurant, OneSpeed is a marvelous addition to our neighborhood. Upon my first visit, I was blown away by the transformation of the space, once occupied by Café Milazzo. The restaurant is open and airy, with Dijon mustard-colored walls, a forest green wrap-around bar, and low wood tables. The focal point of the restaurant is the multi-colored tile pizza oven at the back of the space, which serves as the heart of the restaurant.
OneSpeed offers more than just pizza-it is a locals hangout where neighbors meet and mingle over pastas, salads and all that is seasonal. OneSpeed focuses on beautiful local ingredients and simple, time tested cooking. Patrons enjoy antipasti, daily changing specials and even Sunday brunch in a family friendly atmosphere. My last visit included red wine and butternut squash ravioli-one meal I am sure to repeat!
