We can’t stop talking about the experience we had dining at Husk during our travels to Charleston. Our friend Chef Michael Twohy knew just where to take us and just what to order. Boasting an almost-5 star rating with thousands of review on OpenTable, Husk did not disappoint!
Centrally located in historic downtown Charleston, Husk embodies the essence of Southern food and adds its unique yet traditional spin on it. Executive Chef and Low Country native Travis Grimes, reinterprets the bounty of the surrounding area, exploring an ingredient-driven cuisine that begins in the rediscovery of heirloom products and redefines what it means to cook and eat in the South. If it doesn’t come from the South, it’s not coming through the door or on your plate. Presentation is paramount at Husk which makes the dining experience equally fun and delicious.
Ambiance? Husk has it. The restaurant occupies a Queen-Anne style home, so you really feel like you’re at family dinner. The restaurant is as casual as it is chic, evoking a way of life centered on seasonality and the grand traditions of Charleston life—one lived at a slower pace, preferably with a cocktail and late afternoon breeze on the piazza.

Are you drooling yet? If you find yourself in Charleston in the future, you absolutely want to make your way to Husk for a fantastic feast (they also have locations in Nashville, Savannah, and Greenville). Their menu frequently changes with what the region’s producers provide daily.
