Fall is in full swing and we couldn’t be more honored to have been invited to come and experience this year’s Cobram Estate olive harvest. It was a day of learning, great food and even better company.
Our afternoon started by meeting at Cobram Estate, the most awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil company in the world, in Woodland, California where we traveled in vans to Cobram Groves to experience the olive trees and to ride the Colossus XL harvester as it gathered the olives from this year’s bounty.
We then traveled back to the Cobram Estate Woodland Headquarters for a plant and processing tour where we saw every phase of the olive oil making experience up close and personal. This was followed by an Extra Virgin Olive Oil tasting where we really honed in on our favorite olive oil attributes.
Our evening after the tour included music and a happy hour at the Estate Event Center with dinner to follow, featuring the Estate’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil prepared by the very talented guest chefs, Tournant. It was wonderful to celebrate local farmers such as Superior Farms, Sunh Fish Company, and the Davis Farmers Market, not to mention Cobram’s delicious Extra Virgin Olive Oil that complemented every dish.
As we left, the Cobram team was gracious enough to not only send us off with a beautiful swag bag, but also let us know that the photo captured while cooking at our home is being used as an ad for their culinary publications—let us know if you come across it!
